Compulsory school attendance across education systems in the Kingdom of Belgium

The Diploma thesis will deal with study of education systems in the three communities in the Kingdom of Belgium - the Flemish, the Walloon and the German speaking community. It will focuse in more closely on compulsory school attendance of these education systems. The theoretical part will be devoted of comparative pedagogy, its meaning and methodology. It will explain the concepts of the education system and its comparison and compulsory education attendance. The Kingdom of Belgium and its specific structure will be briefly introduced in the next part. The practical part of this thesis will deal with three education systems in Belgium through qualitative research, namely studies. Analysis and comparison of these less known education systems, its evaluation of functionality using comparison education results in schools of Belgian communities are the aims of this thesis. It will also show advantages and disadvantages of autonomy of the individual school systems and their comparison.
